Love Poetry

         Love poetry is my favorite collection of poetry! It seems to me that the person that's writing it is always being very sincere. I also believe only people that have or are in love can right about it. It is just one of those things in life that you have to experience before you can ever make a accurate statement about it.
        I believe that Anne Bradstreet had to be in love with her husband very deeply when she wrote the poem "To My Dear and Loving Husband". The whole poem is about how she treasures the love that her husband and her have between them. She has a wonderful way of expressing her love through poetry that you don't see very often.
         Anne Bradstreet is a wonderful poet. Every person that ever has or will read her poetry will truly know how she feels because of the way she uses words to expressive her love to her husband. This particular poem was wrote in 1678 and it is still being taught in literature books today.

Elizabeth Barrett Browning

I absolutely love Elizabeth Browning's poetry. The poems that she has written about the relationship between her and her husband are truly beautiful. You can really tell that she married her best friend and the love of her life. I makes me think and dream of the kind of marriage I would love to have with Taylor one day. Her poetry is very detailed. You can tell that she spent a lot of time trying to put her thoughts into the perfect words.

How do I feel about poetry?

How do I feel when I think of poetry? Normally I think I sure hope I am not the one having to write the poetry. Poetry to me can be wonderful and at other times it can be very annoying. If it's about relationships or love then I like it, but any other type is kind of hard for me to pay attention to. It a lot needs to be short because if its to long all the rhyming some poems include start to make my head hurt.

Divorce and Cheating " The Lady with the Dog"

After reading this story "The Lady with the Dog", I just began to wonder what makes people want to cheat? This has always been such a hard concept for me to grasp. I have also wandered why would anyone ever want a divorce? I mean is there conflict between some people that is just to great to ever be resolved? I thought this was the reason people date before they get married, or most people do. I was always taught that dating was the time you learned about each other, the good and the bad. To me that's the time when you find problems and get them fixed before you even think about marring someone. I feel if you truly love someone why would you ever think about wanting to hurt them. The bible says that the husband should love his wife just as Christ loves the church. The last time I checked Christ has never forsaken, lost love, cheated, or betrayed the church. Now and days getting married is a joke. When people stand at the alter and say those vows in front of there family and most of all a Holy God promising to love and cherish that person forever, they should mean it. Now I understand that I have never been married. But just seeing how marriage's are today makes me want to work five times harder when I do get married to have marriage that is full of love, forgiveness, and faithfulness.

Strange Reaction

    

The Story of an Hour was the short story that I choose for presentation. Honestly after I read the story I was like "what in the world". This story was strange on so many levels.
      First of all, when someone dies that you love, or even just know from down the street, you are sad. I am pretty sure that most people would be in agreement with me. This is not how Mrs. Mallard felt when she found out her husband was dead. Well at first she did ill give her a little bit of credit, but after she begins to think on the fact that her husband is dead she begins to laugh! I mean you kind of have to be a strange person to laugh after you just found out that you one and only husband is gone forever.
      Secondly, the author Kate Chopin gives us no evidence at all that maybe the marriage wasn't going so well or the husband possibly hit his wife. I, as a reader just assumes that something bad was going on in the marriage because of the way that Mrs. Mallard  responded to the news. I think the author leaves out that part of the story so that the readers mind can imagine what was going own and come up with there own opinion.
      Thirdly, I was so shocked when I read the end of the story I didn't even know what to think. Mrs. Mallard finds out her husband was not dead. I mean to me this would be a time of rejoicing and happiness, but not for Louise. When her husband walks into their home alive she falls over dead when she sees him. The doctors said that she died of heart disease of joy that kills. Now that's one of the strangest heart diseases I have ever heard of. But anyway I want to believe that she really was happy to see him but it just shocked her so much that he wasn't dead that she died.
      This story was very strange and sad for me. At the end of the story I really didn't even know how to respond i was in such shock. This story leaves the reader guessing and making their own assumptions of what was truly going on between this couple.

The Prodical Son

This over all had to be my favorite short story from the collection that we did in class. Even though I had heard it taught through out my childhood years at Sunday school it still reminded me of God's love to all of this children. This story showed me that no one is to far away for the hand of God to reach out and welcome them back into His arms. It makes me wonder sometimes why God would die for people who just keep sinning and turning away from Him? I honestly don't believe any person can give a logical answer to that question except that God is Perfect and that's just who He is. No one else in the world can give grace and forgiveness like he can. I am so glad that I personally serve a God of love, forgiveness, and grace!

Shakespeare

     William Shakespeare is truly one of the most unusual, amazing, and talented authors ever. He wrote a numerous amount of plays while he was alive.
     Some of them I would have to say would fall into the unusual category of his work like, Midsummer Nights Dream. I don't believe I have ever dreamed or thought that a couple of men and women liking a person of the opposite sex could turn into such a mess. This play was every where up and down, side to side. I found myself struggling to try to figure out which man like which women and vis versa.
     I would have to say that Romeo and Juliet is Shakespeare's most amazing piece of literature. I think that this amazing love story will last till the end of time, and it should. Even though at times Shakespeare's language can be somewhat difficult to understand his work is truly a piece of art.
